Counting Down to Christmas: A DIY Advent Calendar

Welcome back, and happy December!

We're slowly but surely hauling out the holly and decking the halls at our place, but it's certainly a process!

Today, however, I'm sharing my DIY Christmas advent calendar.

We have a giant chalkboard made from old barnwood hanging behind the couch in our living room, and it's the perfect place for our Christmas advent calendar.

This calendar couldn't be any easier (or cheaper) to put together. I just used small white paper sacks, mini clothespins, and some red and white baker's twine. I found everything I needed at Hobby Lobby.

And as an added bonus, I finally figured out what to do with all that leftover Halloween candy! (Now maybe I'll be able to cut myself off after one or two, instead of grabbing a couple every time I walk by...)

I hope you're enjoying your own countdown to Christmas! Check back soon for  another look at our house all decked out for the holidays.
